What is it?
theShellCMS is an open source (free) piece of online software that is used mainly by web design agencies to develop bespoke websites for clients so that they can then edit the site themselves. From day one, it has been designed with users in mind and is for sites ranging from 10 up to approx100 pages.
Who's using it?
Lots of companies are using theShellCMS. Maybe not as many who are using Joomla but theShell is still relatively new on the scene.
Is it supported?
Definitely. But only in the UK at the moment. There are a number of agencies that use theShell to deliver all their CMS websites because it is so quick to develop on and so easy for customers to pick up the back end.
But it's not Joomla, Sharepoint or WordPress or Drupal!
No. It's definitely not. Just because something is used by lots of people doesn't mean it's going to live forever or be better. Where is OS commerce now? Where is MamboCMS? These two giants have been superceded by things like ZenCart and Joomla. And Joomla is a massive bit of kit that developers may like - but many content users/administrators hate.
